Meet the Designer: Nette Rose
'I was studying Fashion Design and itching to start a brand. I knew the concept before the product, that Nette Rose would always be about self love and dressing for yourself'
'I started by selling my vintage clothing at markets and moved onto coats, then swimwear and then created my first bralette ... and it was love!'
When designing the pieces, where do you look for inspiration?
'Travel! Meeting beautiful babes who inspire me and strolling through endless botanical gardens in each city I visit.'
What does a typical day hold for you at Nette Rose?
'A little bit of everything. We're still a tiny team so we all have our hands busy in all aspects of the business'.
Do you have any particular career highlights since launching?
'I smile every day (laughs); every day has its own little highlight, whether it is a big achievement or a tiny. But if I had to choose, I would say that our first return customer was probably one of the best moments.'
What is one thing you wish you knew before you started?
'Nothing! I think if you know too much before you start you never will. It seems silly, but I look back and think "yikes", I wouldn't want to go through some things twice, but I still wouldn't change a thing!'
When you're not running the show, how do you like to relax?
'Yoga. I also enjoy trying to paint and attempting to go for a run (laughs). But I would say travelling relaxes me the most, whether it is to a different country or to a different town, getting out of my routine and headspace is super refreshing'.
Final question, if you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
'You are going to continue to have the best day every day - keep having a ball and don't waste more than 5 minutes on things that make you second guess yourself (but always allow yourself those 5 minutes).
