In conversation with Melanie
As part of our latest campaign, we invited our followers to take part in a shoot for womanhood. As with all our campaigns, all images are untouched.
We chat to Melanie about what womanhood means to her and the journey she has been on.
At nearly 62 years old there have naturally been highs and lows during my life. I literally have the scars to prove it! My latest scar, largely unseen, underneath my left breast after surgery for breast cancer is the reason for applying for and participating in this wonderful shoot for womanhood.
I needed to do something that was so out of character for me, something that ordinarily I would have run a mile in the opposite direction of, to prove to myself, and only myself, that I could overcome - that I was ok. And indeed, I am. After all, there are worse things in life to be afraid of than having your photo taken.
